Weddings
A wedding is a day of promises, and Scripture has the truest words for it. These verses set human love inside God’s own: the patient, kind, enduring love of 1 Corinthians 13, the joining of two lives into one, and the call to love one another as Christ has loved us. They suit a reading in the service, a line in the order of service, or a card for the couple.
Weddings happen all year; in the UK most fall between late spring and early autumn.
A note for planning
Many couples know 1 Corinthians 13 already, which is no bad thing on a wedding day. If you would like something a little less expected, the words in John to love "as I have loved you" set the bar where Scripture sets it, on Christ’s own self-giving love.
