Revelation 21:4He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain any more. The first things have passed away.
Revelation 21:4 is God's promise that in the new heaven and earth he will personally wipe away every tear, and death, grief and pain will be gone for good. It does not say our sorrow now does not matter. It says it will not last, and that God himself will be the one to end it.

Common questions
- How random is it?
- Each tap picks a verse at random from our collection, and it will not give you the same one twice in a row. Choose a topic first and it draws only from verses on that theme.
- Is a random verse a good way to find guidance?
- It is a lovely nudge, and a way to meet a verse you would not have gone looking for. A verse read on its own can be misread, though, so follow the link to the short reflection and the passage around it.
- Can I get a random verse on a particular subject?
- Yes. Use the topic menu to limit the draw to verses about peace, fear, hope, grief, strength and more, so the verse fits what is on your mind.
- Which Bible translation is used?
- The World English Bible, British edition, a faithful, modern translation in the public domain. You are free to copy and share any verse you land on.
